However, adhering to this lifestyle can be even more challenging, and many patients have been found to be clinically malnourished due to a lack of protein and fat in their diets.

So, what's the answer?... 

The solution lies in the middle, where patients can consume carbs, protein, and fat in moderation. Consuming a balanced diet allows the body to function normally, reducing the likelihood of spikes in blood sugar levels. Additionally, consuming a varied diet ensures that the body receives the necessary nutrients to function at a normal baseline homeostasis.

The key is finding the right balance between carbs, protein, and fat that works for each individual patient, as everyone's body is different.
